What is a Level 2 Electrician

Level 2 electricians have a higher qualification which means that they are able to carry out more advanced jobs for clients. They will have undergone specific training and hold a license to do repairs, maintenance and level 2 electrical installation across a range of electrical components. This includes overhead and underground electrical work that connects a customer’s home or business to an electrical supply network
Level 2 also allows for construction of service lines between the distribution system and the point of connection to the premises and for the installation and energisation of metering services. Level 2 service providers may be accredited for the following work categories:
- disconnection and reconnection
- underground service lines
- overhead service lines
- metering and energising new installations
- installing contestable market metering
